Under the “Empower Her” project by Jan Kalyan Gramodhyog Seva Ashram, Sonbhadra, a one-day exposure visit was organized to promote livelihood opportunities for women and adolescent girls. The visit aimed to familiarize participants with women-led livelihood initiatives. Additionally, participants learned about self-reliance efforts through activities like washing powder production, pickle-making, tailoring, and other small-scale enterprises.
Resource persons from Lok Samiti Ashram, including Nandlal, Ram Bachan, Anita, and Sita, shared detailed insights into the group’s activities and successes. The visit inspired enthusiasm and motivation among participants, who expressed a keen interest in adopting similar livelihood initiatives in their communities.
The event was attended by project staff, including Poonam, Sunita, Suman, Neelam, Reema, Jaswant, Program Manager Kutubuddin, Block Coordinator Vijay Kumar Prajapati, and other women and adolescent girls from the groups. The program successfully encouraged self-reliance and motivated participants to identify and create employment opportunities in their areas, earning widespread appreciation.
